Today’s price, and why it can move

Crawfish is not a fixed-price grocery item. Supply arrives when it arrives, the size runs vary, and the owner sets the number in the same system that prints the kitchen tickets. This page reads that number when you load it, which is why it can differ from a price you saw here a fortnight ago and why it will not quietly disagree with what you are charged at checkout.

What is actually in stock

The list further down is the live menu. When crawfish sell out, the row says so and the four sets built on crawfish go dark with it, rather than staying on the page at a price nobody can buy. If a row is missing a sold-out mark, it is because the kitchen’s system did not answer in time — the page says that out loud too instead of guessing.

Planning something for this weekend

Stock turns over and weekends are when it goes. If you need a particular weight on a particular evening — a boil for twelve, a birthday, anything you would rather not improvise — call (747) 488-9441 a day or two ahead and we will tell you honestly what we can get. Minimum three pounds when crawfish are ordered on their own; delivery is $15 for every 15 miles from our kitchen, free over $600.

What we boil

Every order ships with gloves, crab crackers, scissors, a table cover and a shrimp deveiner.

Questions we get asked

How much are crawfish today in Los Angeles?

$35 a pound live and $40 a pound boiled in garlic butter, as of Thursday, August 27. This page reads the price from the kitchen’s own catalogue each time it loads, so it is the number the checkout will use.

Do you have crawfish in stock right now?

The menu below shows it. A sold-out row keeps its price and says sold out, and the sets built on crawfish go dark at the same moment. If the kitchen’s system is unreachable the page says so rather than pretending.

How often does this page change?

Whenever the owner changes a price or a stock flag in admin, within a few minutes. It is not a blog post with a date on it — the date and the numbers are read when you open it.
