Yes, we deliver to Panorama City. The whole neighbourhood sits in one ZIP, 91402, and all of it is in the zone: the apartment blocks along Van Nuys Boulevard, the streets off Roscoe, everything down toward Sepulveda. Five miles on the 170 makes this one of the shortest runs on our board. If you are ordering to one of the Kaiser buildings, tell us which entrance to pull up to.

Orders here are big and practical. Eight or nine people out of one apartment on Van Nuys Boulevard, two or three generations at the table, and a headcount that does not shrink because somebody brought a cousin. That is where Blue Diamond shrimp at $15.99 a pound earns its place: bought by the pound, corn and chickpeas alongside, and crawfish or crab added for the adults who came specifically for that.

ZIP codes we deliver to in Panorama City

Five miles, straight down the 170 and then west, about 13 minutes when the freeway is clear. The driver comes off at Roscoe Boulevard and finishes on the surface grid, where the time goes to the signals at Van Nuys Boulevard and Sepulveda rather than to the freeway. Around six the left turns back up past Panorama Mall, and the last half mile can take as long as the first four and a half.

Every tray is sealed at the pot and rides out in an insulated carrier, so the drive costs the boil as little heat as it can.

Your boil, your call

Pick a heat level, from No Heat to LA Inferno. Then salt: light, regular or extra. Every item on the menu is finished the way you asked, not the way the pot ran that night.

Panorama City is apartment country: courtyard buildings on Van Nuys Boulevard, two-story blocks off Roscoe, families where dinner means eight plates and one kid who will not touch shellfish. Kaiser runs shifts around the clock a few streets over, so orders land at hours that would surprise a restaurant. The mall lot fills before dark. If your building is gated, give us the gate rather than the unit number and a phone the driver can actually reach.

What we boil

Every order ships with gloves, crab crackers, scissors, a table cover and a shrimp deveiner.

Questions people from Panorama City ask

My whole family is coming to a place on Van Nuys Boulevard — when do I need to call?

Past twelve guests we need 48 hours, because that is a spread built to your headcount rather than a set off the menu. Under twelve, a morning call for the same evening is usually enough. In the courtyard buildings on Van Nuys Boulevard the table is the harder part, not the food: send us the gate and one phone number.

When is the best time to order here, on a weeknight or a weekend?

On a weeknight, call before five or wait until after eight. In between, the 170 southbound stacks up and five miles stops behaving like five miles. Weekends invert it: the freeway runs clean and the kitchen is the queue, so a Saturday table of eight is worth booking a few hours before you sit down.

What should we serve with the boil?

Sweet corn rides in the same bag and takes on the butter, and the chickpeas come in their own jar, so order both. In 91402 the other half of the table is rice, and a pot of it is what turns two pounds of shrimp into dinner for four — the markets along Van Nuys Boulevard sell it in twenty-pound bags for exactly this reason. Add bread for whatever butter is left in the tray.
