Yes, we deliver to Van Nuys, and every address here sits inside about fifteen minutes of the tank. All four ZIPs are in the zone: 91401, 91405, 91406 and 91411, from the Civic Center blocks out to the Lake Balboa side and up Kester Ridge. Panorama City rides the same driver route, so a house in 91402 can go out on the same run.
Van Nuys orders by the pound more than by the set. People here have the pot, the burner and the yard, so a good share of calls are for crawfish handed over live, which costs less than having us boil them, or two pounds boiled with corn and a jar of chickpeas on a Tuesday. The rest are Saturday tables of ten near the Civic Center or up on Kester Ridge: crab, crawfish, shrimp, then a second round of corn.
Live in the tank. Boiled to order, or packed live and raw for your own pot.
ZIP codes we deliver to in Van Nuys
From Sun Valley the run is six miles: down to the 405 and off at Victory Boulevard, about 15 minutes of driving on a normal afternoon. After five the 405 southbound is the wrong place to be, so the driver skips it and works Victory and Sepulveda instead, which costs a few minutes and saves more. The last block is usually the easy part here: flat grid, numbered blocks, driveways wide enough to pull into. The exceptions are the Civic Center streets at shift change and the Kester Ridge blocks, where cars parked on both sides leave one lane.
Every tray is sealed at the pot and rides out in an insulated carrier, so the drive costs the boil as little heat as it can.

Neighbourhoods we run to
Your boil, your call
Pick a heat level, from No Heat to LA Inferno. Then salt: light, regular or extra. Every item on the menu is finished the way you asked, not the way the pot ran that night.
Van Nuys is a city of backyards and long tables, where ten people at a Saturday dinner does not need an occasion. One order goes to somebody finishing up near the Civic Center, the next to a family coming back from a day at Lake Balboa with nobody left standing to cook. Small planes out of Van Nuys Airport pass over while you eat. Carry the tray out back, spread the cover, hand out the gloves.
What we boil
Every order ships with gloves, crab crackers, scissors, a table cover and a shrimp deveiner.
Questions people from Van Nuys ask
One person at our table cannot handle heat, and a guest is allergic to shellfish. What do we do?
Order two trays at two heat levels. At the ten-plate backyard tables this side of Victory Boulevard, that is the usual fix: No Heat for the kids and the grandparents, LA Inferno at the far end. An allergy is a different problem. Everything boils in shared water, so we cannot promise a shellfish-free plate.
When are crawfish in season, and how do I know you have them today?
Crawfish are seasonal, and the tank does not hold the same amount two weeks running. Part of the year it is full daily; other weeks it runs thin and we say so instead of quietly substituting. Van Nuys is six miles from that tank on the 405, so call (747) 488-9441 the afternoon you plan to eat.
Can I take them live and boil them in my own yard?
Yes, straight out of the tank and bagged raw; the price per pound is the same as boiled. Van Nuys is built for it: on the 91406 streets west of Sepulveda and up on Kester Ridge, the side gate, the yard and the propane burner are already there. Keep them cool and covered rather than drowned in water, and boil them the same day.
