Yes, straight out of the tank, raw, and cheaper by the pound than the boiled ones. Think about your stove first. Three pounds needs a tall pot, and the four-burner range in an old Echo Park bungalow takes its time getting there. If you have a yard up in Elysian Heights, a propane burner outside is easier.
