Three different Pasadenas order from us. Bungalow Heaven carries a long table onto the porch and orders for eight. The apartments around the Playhouse District order for two or three and eat it in front of the TV. And the Caltech side splits one set four ways during midterms, usually with the shrimp doubled because it goes furthest. Same kitchen, three completely different boxes.

Out of Sun Valley the run is the 134 east past Glendale and into town, about 16 miles, typically 26 minutes. It is the longest foothill drive we make, and almost all of it is freeway until the Colorado or Lake exit drops the driver into surface streets. Rose Bowl event days rearrange the traffic on that side of town, so order earlier on those nights. Friday evenings add Old Pasadena to the same problem: Colorado crawls, the parking structures back up, and the driver is usually better off coming in from Fair Oaks.

Every tray is sealed at the pot and rides out in an insulated carrier, so the drive costs the boil as little heat as it can.

Pasadena eats on porches. Bungalow Heaven is block after block of front steps built for exactly this, and the craftsman streets north of Colorado do the same with longer tables. Downtown is a different order entirely: gated lobbies and callboxes around South Lake and the Playhouse District, students near Caltech, and a Friday night in Old Pasadena when nobody wants to stand in a line for a table. Leave the gate code and the driver comes up.

Which Pasadena ZIP codes do you cover, and what if I am on the boundary?

All eight: 91101, 91103, 91104, 91105, 91106, 91107, plus 91125 at Caltech and 91182 on the Fuller campus. A boundary address is usually a neighbouring city's ZIP rather than ours, 91001 reads Altadena and 91108 reads San Marino, and checkout will refuse those.

How does the handoff work at a gated building or a hillside address?

Put the code in the delivery notes and the driver comes to your door instead of waiting on the sidewalk. South Lake and Playhouse District buildings need the callbox name or a gate code; the Arroyo-side streets in 91105 need to know which driveway to take. In Bungalow Heaven it is simpler: porch light on, front steps, done.

Can you deliver to an office or a campus building?

Yes, and it is worth writing the building down. An office tower on South Lake Avenue means a suite number and whether the lobby desk will sign for food. Huntington Hospital and the Caltech buildings inside 91125 mean meeting the driver outside, since he cannot badge past a desk. Book weekday lunches before the 134 fills up.
