Text Message Program
LA Lobster Delivery · Effective July 30, 2026
This page is the complete description of every way a person can consent to receive text messages from LA Lobster Delivery, exactly what we collect when they do, every message we send, how often, and how to stop. It is written for customers, and it is also the page our messaging provider and the mobile carriers review. Nothing below is a summary.
The program at a glance
- Program name — LA Lobster Delivery order notifications.
- What we collect when you opt in — your mobile phone number and your consent, and nothing else. You type the number into the checkout yourself and tick the box yourself. We never obtain a number any other way.
- What you receive afterwards — one transactional message per order, containing a link to your own order-tracking page. That is the only message type. No marketing, no series.
- Message frequency — exactly one message per order for customers. Internal staff alerts, five to twenty a day.
- Cost — we do not charge. Message and data rates may apply from your mobile carrier.
- Provider — messages are sent through Twilio. All messages are in English.
Opt-in path 1 — order tracking (customers)
This is the only way a customer can ever receive a text from us. It is a checkbox on the last step of checkout at la-lobster.com:
- Add one or more items to the cart from the menu, open the cart, choose Checkout.
- Choose delivery or pickup, enter the address, date and time slot.
- Enter name, mobile phone number and email.
- On the final Review step there are two separate checkboxes: the Order Policy agreement, and the text-message box below.
- Tick the order-tracking box, then press Place Order.
What the consumer submits at that moment: the mobile number they typed, plus their affirmative consent — nothing else. What they receive: one transactional order notification, and only that.
The box is unchecked when the page loads, is never pre-selected, and the order completes whether or not it is ticked — consent is never a condition of purchase. The Order Policy checkbox beside it is a separate agreement; ticking it does not opt anyone into texts. This is the only messaging checkbox on the form — no marketing consent is collected anywhere on this site. The exact label, word for word:
I consent to receive text messages from LA Lobster Delivery about this order — one message with a tracking link, no marketing. Message frequency: 1 per order. Msg & data rates may apply. Text HELP for help, reply STOP to opt out.
Opt-in path 2 — new-order alerts (our own staff)
This path sends nothing to customers. When an order lands, the owner and kitchen crew get a short alert on their own handsets.
- What is submitted: an employee's own mobile number, given verbally to the owner, about their own work phone.
- What they receive: an internal new-order alert. Five to twenty a day.
- The owner enters it in the admin panel under Settings → Notifications → Staff SMS numbers, capped at five numbers by the server so it can never become a broadcast list.
- A master switch, “Text staff when a new order arrives”, is off unless the owner turns it on.
- Removal: the owner deletes the number from the same screen, or adds it to the do-not-text list, which suppresses it regardless. Replying STOP also blocks it at the carrier.
There are no other ways to opt in
- No keyword opt-in — no “text JOIN to…” anywhere, on the site, in the restaurant, or on print.
- No QR code, paper form, or point-of-sale opt-in.
- Ordering by phone does not opt anyone in — staff enter it and leave the box off.
- Creating an account does not opt anyone in. Nor does the email list, which has its own unsubscribe.
- No phone number is ever purchased, rented, imported or obtained from a third party.
Every message we send
The complete bodies, exactly as our system builds them. Only the order number, amount and link change.

Screenshots of the opt-in
For our messaging provider and the mobile carriers. The first two were taken from the live checkout at la-lobster.com on August 18, 2026, and show the form exactly as it stands today; the third is the admin screen where staff numbers are managed, which is behind a login and cannot otherwise be reviewed. One staff number is partly redacted because it is a private mobile; the other is our published business line and is shown in full.

How to stop receiving texts
- Reply STOP to any message. Handled at the carrier level by our messaging provider, effective immediately. You get one confirmation and nothing after it.
- Or call (747) 488-9441 and ask us to stop. We keep a manual do-not-text list, so a spoken request counts the same as replying STOP.
- Or email [email protected] with the number.
- Stopping texts does not affect your order. The food still comes, and the tracking page works in any browser without a text.
How to get help
Reply HELP to any message for our contact details, or reach a person on (747) 488-9441 or at [email protected].
Rates, delivery and your number
- Message and data rates may apply. We do not charge; your carrier may.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- We do not sell or share your mobile phone number, or your consent to be texted, with anyone for their own marketing — not with affiliates, not with advertisers, not with anybody. The only third party that sees the number is Twilio, which sends the message on our behalf.
The rest of the paperwork
The binding terms are §8 of our Order Policy. What we do with your number generally, how long we keep it and how to have it deleted are in the Privacy Policy.
